INTRODUCTION TO FIRST AID AND AED TRAINING
Learners will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of emergency scene management and treat common injuries.
- Assess Emergency situations and apply First Aid procedures in emergency situations.
- Safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to respond effectively during cardiac emergencies.
Purpose of the Course:
Equip the learner to assess the emergency situation and provide basic Life Support and basic First Aid in order to stabilize patients prior to transfer to the emergency services.
Accreditation:
This course is not an HWSETA Accredited course but it is based on SAQA Unit Standard Number 119567.
Content of the Course:
- CPR
- Bleeding and Wounds
- Fractures
- Use of the AED
